DRIVING GUIDELINES
In order to provide an enjoyable and safe experience for all participants, please respect the following guidelines:
• We will be passing through residential areas. Please respect speed limits in residential areas/school zones!
• Some roads, particularly in the milton area are frequented by cyclists and joggers. Please exercise caution when approaching blind hill crests and corners.
• Do not feel compelled to go fast because of the guy behind you. If you're uncomfortable with a section of road for whatever reason, please slow down, and allow others to pass.
• With a group of this size, it's inevitable that we will get separated. If you find yourself at the head of the pack and do not have a navigator or feel uncomfortable leading, please pull aside and let someone else take lead.
• Follow the map, not necessarily the driver in front of you. If they miss a turn, it's easier and safer for one or two cars to U-Turn than a large group!
• Above all, please remember that this is not our private racetrack. There are sections where we may be able to open it up, but it should be done in a safe and responsible manner in clear, open sections of road.
Let's all have fun, with zero speeding tickets!
FRS/GMRS RADIOS
FRS Radio’s are medium range (approx 2 km’s, more for GMRS) communication devices, which operate like walkie-talkies. They are fantastic for group drives, and are an excellent investment for future events. They help to keep the group together, warn of radar traps, etc. I highly advise picking up a set as it will make the drive much more enjoyable. FRS+GMRS radio’s can be purchased at Costco, Radio Shack, Home Depot, Canadian Tire etc.
Costco has two FRS/GMRS radio’s: Cobra Microtalk w/ headset ($79.99), and Motorola 5500 ($49.99).
Primary Channel: 5.00
Secondary Channel: 7.00 (if channel 5 is busy)
